Robin King is co-owner of Three Birds Tavern, along with her husband Jack, and the creator and owner of Out of the Weeds, distributor of made fresh in Florida artisan dressings and blog.
After raising her children in Ohio, and a career in risk-management and development, Robin moved to Florida in 2009 and started the next chapter in their life, fulfilling a life-long dream of owning a restaurant or bed and breakfast.
Supporting the local movement is very important to Robin, active with LocalShops1 since the beginning, and she chose to produce her Out of the Weeds product locally, even though distributing internationally.
Their scratch kitchen at the St. Petersburg restaurant started reproducing Robin's recipes in 2010, and as popularity grew among guests, Robin this year teamed with The Sauceology Group in Clearwater to bottle three of the restaurant's popular salad dressings: Carrot Ginger, Roasted Beet Vinaigrette and Roasted Tomato Vinaigrette. Robin tells us that this is just the beginning, and the dressings will soon be available across the country (perhaps even the globe), and more products are in the works.
